Thai x Mexican fusion cuisine?

So I've been thinking about two of my very favorite cuisines, Thai and Mexican... It seems so natural that they'd make an awesome fusion cuisine. Bearing in mind that Mexico has several of its own regional cuisines, I think it's fair to say they broadly share several staple ingredients and spices:

- meats / seafood (esp chicken, pork, shrimp)
- chilis (though some Mexican cuisines rely more on smoked and/or dried chilis)
- cilantro, cumin, cinnamon, garlic - I'm sure there are others
- coconut, pineapple, mango, onion
- rice (though the types are different)

Having googled around a bit, I see there are restaurants that do just this - not that I thought I was the first to think of it anyway... Unfortunately, I'm in a smallish city in the Midwest (US), and the vast majority of restaurants here are national chains, so I'd probably have to travel 5+ hours to find such a place.

My question for you, then: have you had Thai x Mexican fusion food before? If so, is it as amazing as I think it would be? And if you've made your own, do you have recipes to share? Otherwise, I may just have to experiment - I think a curry al pastor would work well, or maybe a pad Thai with Mexican flair (like ancho, chipotle, or chorizo)... Now I'm hungry. Argh.
