Fried chicken is life.
The golden crust, the sheer succulence enclosed within its crusty exterior and the sensation you get the second your teeth sink into and through the crunchy layer to expose all that piping-hot chicken deliciousness—is frankly all it takes to transport us to gastronomic heaven.
From Korean fried chicken to prawn paste chicken (Har Cheong Gai), American fried chicken and Nasi Lemak chicken wings, here are 24 best fried chicken in Singapore.
7TH MILE SEAFOOD

Fried to perfection, the chicken wings are so crispy and juicy that you can easily finish half a dozen of them on your own.

The owner of Ah Tan Wings is surprisingly a 26-year old man who has had no prior experience in the culinary arts. He’s driven by his childhood passion for har cheong gai alone, which is evident from the fragrant, crispy plates of har cheong gai that he pushes out daily.

BAN LEONG WAH HOE SEAFOOD
The crowd at Ban Leong Wah Hoe Seafood every evening is the best testament to its popularity. Its slight inaccessibility is clearly not a deterrent as foodies would travel all the way to Casuarina Road to satisfy their Zi Char cravings.
Other than their famous chilli crabs and black pepper crabs, this popular Zi Char eatery is also renowned for their mouthwatering har cheong gai or prawn paste chicken; crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, this is one dish that you’ll see at almost every table. We will go out on a limb to say that this is one of the best prawn paste chicken in Singapore.

Not just any other Korean fried chicken brand, Chir Chir (say it with us, chi-re chi-re) doesn’t just hail from the birthplace of said dish, it is one of the more prominent chimaek – a Korean portmanteau of chicken and beer – franchises with over 100 outlets in South Korea. To preserve the authenticity of its fare, all Singapore outlets use sauces and marinades imported from South Korea. No watered-down flavours here!
Available in the classic Crispy, Garlicky, Spicy and Curry flavours, diners can decide on which type of cut (tenders or drumlets and winglets) they want, as well as the number of pieces (6pc for S$9.90++; 12pc for S$17.90; 18pc for S$24.90++) they are most comfortable having.
A flavour quintessential to Korean fried chicken, this iteration is beloved for its extra dimension of sweetness while remaining every bit as palatable and sapid as the Garlicky Chicken. Despite the sticky, saccharine veneer, the chicken retains its trademark crisp exterior, creating a divergent mouthfeel between the softer pliant sauce and the crackling crunch beneath.

Fish & Chicks is a no-frills eatery that specialises in a range of delectable deep-fried goodies—most of which are subsequently drenched in their signature salted egg sauce. This humble stall debuted in the heartlands of Ang Mo Kio and eventually found its way among the big boys in town.
While they are known for their fish and seafood, their fried chicken is pretty awesome too. The Chicken Cutlet is great, but we highly recommend opting for the Spring Chicken Half for a better variety of textural components.

Specialising in a variety of authentic Korean fare from its homemade noodles (guksu), Korean fried chicken and even their signature Korean-style hot pot (jeongol), Guksu over at Suntec City is a tribute of all things traditional.
The menu boasts a pretty impressive array of deep-fried options to choose from such as soy, spicy, wasabi and of course the good-old classic but we decided to go with the Snowing Chicken (S$34.90).
Great for sharing among up to 4 people, this mammoth-sized platter sees a long stack of Korean fried chicken wings slathered with a savoury garlic cream and generously topped with their homemade snow powder (essentially a honey butter and garlic mixture). Striking the right balance between sweet, savoury and crunchy, we can see why this is a crowdpleaser.

Holland Village XO Fish Head is best known for its XO Fish Head and San Lo Hor Fun. Regulars to the Zi Char eatery will also know that they have really good Har Cheong Gai (Prawn Paste Chicken). It has that unmistakably crunchy skin that we all love and underneath that crispy goodness is incredibly tender, succulent chicken meat that we just cannot get enough of.

One of the reasons why Ikea is a hot dining spot among families is probably its stellar chicken wings which also happens to be their bestseller.
Tasty, crispy and oozing with juicy chicken goodness upon each bite, there is no surprise as to why nearly every table makes it a point to order up a portion or three of these bad boys.

INTERNATIONAL MUSLIM FOOD STALL NASI LEMAK
One of the most popular nasi lemak stalls at Changi Village Food Centre, International Muslim Food Stall Nasi Lemak really sets the bar high with their fried chicken wings. It was fragrant and incredibly crispy—just the way any good fried chicken wing should be. It carried a subtle hint of ginger which we felt worked well to complement the entire dish aromatically. We also liked that the outer coating was not too thick to the extent that it became overwhelming.
Normally, if a batter is too heavy, it would take considerably more effort for the hot oil to penetrate the centre of the chicken wing, hence, the result being an oily chicken wing that is still raw in the middle. Thankfully, their coating was relatively thin, which allowed the end result to be super crispy.

For quality Korean fried chicken that is neither too oily nor difficult to knock back after 2 or 3, the ones at Kko Kko Na Ra are solid to boot. Fan favourites include their Honey Shiok Fried Chicken as well as Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken.
The restaurant opens until late at night so you really have to drop by for some sinful fried chicken wings and soju when the hunger pangs strike after midnight!

NO. 5 EMERALD HILL
Better known as a spot for post-work shenanigans, many would be surprised to know that No. 5 Emerald Hill serves up a lot more than just a wide array of martinis and other booze-filled creations.
Their Fried Prawn Paste Chicken Wings are absolutely to-die-for and the sheer savoury notes coming off the chicken coupled with its extremely crispy skin warrants a round or two of ice-cold beer.

The Steven Chicken (8 pieces – S$12, 12 pieces – S$18, 16 pieces – S$24) blew our minds; it is no surprise this signature has been keeping regulars back for more for many decades.
Marinated in a sweet sauce (in-house secret!) and deep-fried to perfection; this bestselling dish ain’t no ordinary chicken wings. We dare say it’s one of the best fried chicken dishes in Singapore! Take a closer look and you will notice that the flesh has been scraped from one wing end to the other for easy consumption.

Other than the lip-smacking Thai Boat Noodles, The Original Thai Boat Noodle also has pretty darn tasty Chicken Wings.
Served piping hot, the wings are crispy and decadent and while they are definitely not the best around, it is still worthwhile to stop by if you are near the area.

Oriole Coffee + Bar’s deep-fried har cheong gai was bursting with robust and fragrant flavours such that every bite into the crispy wings was a delight. Upon biting into the chicken wing, the crackling skin broke apart to reveal succulent and tender meat. Dipping it into the chili at the side gave the dish another dimension of flavours.

Famous for their plethora of fusion-style pizzas, pasta, bibimbap towers and wildly-popular Korean fried chicken, Pizza Maru is one place that we highly recommend to get your fix of comforting Korean grub.
To savour the crispy and juicy delicacy in its most natural form, opt for the Original Fry. Pizza Maru also has really good Honey Butter Coat wings. Offering the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, the generous dusting of sweet, buttery powder truly takes it to another level.
Lovers of all things spicy should definitely go for the Supa Hot Dak Gangjeong (S$16.80 for 6 pieces, S$29.80 for 12 pieces) variation that features 2 levels of spice.

Sin Ho’s har cheong gai is almost always sold out every day by 8pm, which speaks volumes of how much everyone loves it! The chicken is perfectly marinated in fragrant, mouthwatering prawn paste which fills our mouths with every bite. We also love how a plate of this goodness is so affordable—no wonder it is always sold out!

The famous Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak has fantastic chicken wings. Fresh out the fryer, they boast a fragrant aroma of turmeric and ginger and we liked that the batter was thin, allowing the chicken wing itself to become super crispy without being too oily.

With a menu filled with modern interpretations or traditional local favourites, Sinpopo Brand is an extremely charming retro café that sits amongst the many shophouses in Joo Chiat.
With all its many quirky renditions of classic sweet and savoury treats and drinks, perhaps the one item that warrants a return visit—only because we fell in love with how incredibly tasty and crispy it was—is the Har Cheong Gai Wings.

Decked out in Melbourne cafe-style decor, this unassuming and seeming pretentious eatery in Ann Siang Hill serves up excellent nasi lemak. The food here is by no means cheap, especially since a plate goes at S$12.80, but what you do get, however, is a slightly healthier version of the iconic dish.
The Coconut Club’s MSG-free Nasi Lemak entails a generous portion of fragrant coconut rice, cucumber slices, peanuts, dried anchovies, a fried egg, sambal sauce and the most important item of all—succulent chicken leg.

We are such big fans of TungLok Group’s arsenal of restaurants and one of the places we frequent most is TungLok Teahouse for their delectable, handcrafted dim sum. But steamed delights aside, what you really should go for is their Boxer Chicken—believe us, it’s worth every darn calorie.

VICTOR FAMOUS FRIED CHICKEN WING
Victor Famous Fried Chicken Wing’s signature Chicken Wing Rice (S$3) came with two piping hot wings alongside a mound of rice and cucumbers. Each wing was snipped into three parts so that they could be easily eaten.
Like any other good fried chicken, the wings here came with a golden crisp, light skin that was aptly sinful but not overly greasy. We particularly adore how despite being able to taste various spices in the seasoning, it did not overwhelm the natural flavours of the chicken.
The chilli dip was sourish, adding depth to the overall taste. It was numbingly spicy enough to make us break a sweat.
