Embrace the Kentucky Spirit with a Lawry’s and Maker’s Mark Special Menu

Every trip to Lawry’s The Prime Rib brings a certain wave of familiarity and intimacy. You can count on that good ol’ Lawry’s hospitality to whisk you away, and make it feel like home right from the get-go. Boasting its 4-metre high floor-to-ceiling windows in all their glory, Lawry’s is a lot, yet very simple in its own right, all at once.

Loyal fans know the works—every now and then, the restaurant springs a surprise on already-expectant diners, each special spread unique yet brimming with the same promise of goodness. This time, it’s a fall-themed menu that brings us a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Lawry’s and Maker’s Mark Whisky, a premium handcrafted bourbon whisky from Kentucky, USA.

For a limited time only, this crossover presents an exclusive 5-course set menu that cleverly and carefully integrates the aforementioned oaky whisky with an array of dishes—an elevation one never knew they needed until today.

Lawry's Maker's Mark 2

Maker’s Mark uniquely uses soft red winter wheat as part of its mash bill, which results in a softer and sweeter taste. The whisky is aged in American White Oak barrels that have been charred to open pores in the wood and caramelise the natural wood sugars. This 60-year recipe creates a smooth, full-flavoured bourbon with enhanced notes of vanilla and caramel.

The curated menu kicks off with a freshly shucked oyster and a shot of Maker’s Mark on the side—either drizzled over or taken after the oyster. A Maker’s Mark-infused Lobster Bisque follows, an equal dose of briny and creamy.

The appetiser is a Crab Cake with Red Winter Wheat from Kentucky, served with a wedge of lemon and tangy tartar sauce on the side.

And finally comes the main dish—diners have the delight of choosing from Lawry’s Signature Roasted USDA Prime Rib of Beef, Maker’s Mark Infused Pork Ribs, or Maker’s Mark Red Winter Wheat Chicken Parmigiano.

On top of the already decadent menu, each guest will also enjoy a cocktail of their choice to pair with the dishes—either a classic Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned or a refreshing Mint Julep.

Finally, diners will end off the meal on a sweet note with Maker’s Mark Whisky Tiramisu made with high quality Italian Mascarpone cheese, coffee, and a Maker’s Mark Whisky infused sponge.

If in the mood for it, add on a Classic Crepe Suzette Dessert Special, which features a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream served atop a bed of citrus and sweet crepes.

“This menu showcases the exceptional ingredients we use at Lawry’s and the versatility of Maker’s Mark whisky. The richness of the whisky pairs well with red meat and seafood, thereby elevating each dish to a new level. We’re excited at the flavours combinations that we have created,” says Head Chef Saran.
Lawry’s will also be offering Maker’s 46, a premium Maker’s Mark whisky, by the glass or bottle.

This premium expression of the whisky is fully matured and further aged with seared French Oak Staves below 10 °C, resulting in richer and bolder aromas. Expect intense flavours—like a crescendo of wood blending perfectly with deep, complex, and rich notes of vanilla and caramel.

The Maker’s Mark set menu at Lawry’s is going at S$139 per pax, and runs from now until 31 October 2020.
