Simple Stay-home Recipes: Maggi Omelette Under 20 Minutes

Hands up if you have more than a packet of instant noodles in your pantry right now. Well, I have to admit that I myself am guilty of panic buying some food items; in my case, it’s not so much of hogging onto rolls of toilet paper or trays of eggs but of my favourite fast-food solution, instant noodles.

With just two members in my household, cooking up proper meals for lunch—in the midst of working from home—is sometimes just a chore. Instant noodles and simple sandwiches have therefore become the best solution for a quick fix to feed my mid-day hunger pangs.

Be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper, this Maggie Omelette recipe is a hassle-free option that can be enjoyed any time of the day. Although the addition of chilli flakes is optional, I would highly recommend you to add it if you love your spice as it added a nice kick amidst the savoury maggie noodles. If you happen to have some fresh chilli in your kitchen, that would be more effective for a stronger punch of heat!

For those who are planning to re-create this for your kids, feel free to switch up the sauces. Drizzle generous amounts of mayonnaise and ketchup on the Maggi Omelette for a creamy, rich delight with an added tanginess that your child will enjoy.

The only tricky part this recipe is perhaps the folding of the maggie-filled omelette. To prevent the egg from coming apart, you can use one more egg for a thicker omelette base. However, be sure to adjust your cooking time before topping it off with the noodles to prevent uncooked parts of egg mixture in your dish.

Done in less than 30 minutes, this Maggi Omelette recipe has always been my go-to especially if I’m craving for a bite late at night. Technically even with just two ingredients—instant noodles and eggs—you can easily create this dish, so why not give it a try?

Expected Damage: S$2 – S$3 per portion
