Green peppers served in American Thai restaurants?

I'm looking to either mail order or grow the sort of green chilis that are served in Thai restaurants in America, which I love. They are usually diagonally cut, and are served in most pik king dishes and maybe some others.

I think they are not just the standard "green chilis" you can find anywhere -- perhaps they are sold under that name, but the ones I've gotten in the grocery (in the US, Australia, and the UK) just do not taste as good. Can anyone help me out?
