Way before big brands like Tiger Sugar and Truedan introduced their take on the ever-so-popular brown sugar boba milk in the form of ice cream, it was Happy Ice Singapore that first brought Taiwan’s famous Brown Sugar Bubble Ice Cream on to our sunny island.
Shortly after Happy Ice Singapore’s immense success of their Taiwan-imported Xiao Mei ice cream series, the local ice cream distributor is once again hitting our shores with a brand new product. This time around, they will be launching something bolder—something so dark, not all of us can accept.
Introducing, German Black Beer Ice Cream.
Continuously garnering a steady stream of die-hard fans since it made its debut in Family Marts and all other leading supermarkets in China, the German Black Beer Ice Cream has won the hearts of both ice cream and alcohol lovers with its almost perfect blend of flavours and consistency. Despite its mere 1% alcohol content, the ice cream is said to pack a punch without leaving you tipsy even after wolfing down a couple of sticks!
Shaped like a beer bottle, each popsicle features a chocolate coating disguised as a beer cap layered on top of a black beer coating that makes up the body of the ice cream. One bite into its creamy black body and a light greyish layer of rye ice cream will be revealed. Filled with bits of rye grains, the rye ice cream exudes an intense nuttiness made more enjoyable with bites of chewiness from the grains itself.
But wait, that’s not all. Venture deeper into the German Black Beer Ice Cream and you will find the essence embedded deep within—the beer lava—a thick caramel-like liquid that completes the entire dessert with its malty fragrance and subtle bitter notes.
